Where Laura's Career in Live Events Began

Mac's Uptowner was more than a neighborhood music venue; it was where I discovered my passion for live event production, artist development, and creating community. As a Talent Buyer and Front-of-House Audio Engineer, I booked regional and national touring artists, managed live sound, promoted events, and built relationships throughout the independent music community.

It was here that I booked Old Shoe, helping spark conversations that eventually led to the creation of Shoe Fest Music Festival. It was also where I booked Another Dead Cover Band (ADCB), which introduced me to Steph and began a creative partnership that continues today.

From nationally touring acts to emerging regional artists, Mac's Uptowner hosted an eclectic mix of Americana, bluegrass, jam, folk, roots, rock, hip-hop, blues, and independent music. Booking across genres strengthened relationships throughout the Midwest music community and provided invaluable experience working with artists at every stage of their careers.
